🌟 What a Busy and Wonderful Week!

We have had so much going on this week in Year 3—it is hard to know where to start!

In our Sharing Assembly, the children wanted to showcase some flamenco steps. Although nerves got the better of them on the day, we were still incredibly proud of their effort! Keeping with our Spanish theme, we have been learning the words for classroom equipment. The children drew rucksacks and labelled items like una goma (a rubber), un lápiz (a pencil), and un bolígrafo (a pen).

Music remains a firm favourite. This week, we practiced playing the recorder along to rhythmic patterns to create our own tunes. Our weekly swimming sessions also continue to be a massive highlight—and they will be especially welcome during the hot summer months ahead!

In Science, our plants have finally started to grow! We will be extending our knowledge of plant growth next by making individual mini-greenhouses during our Design and Technology (DT) lessons.

The Oakmere School Mini-Marathon was a huge success. Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed a whole morning away from written lessons—which they informed me was a major benefit!

Well run and supported, everyone! You all thoroughly deserved your ice lollies at the end of the day.

️ Happy Half-Term!

Have a fun, restful, and safe time with your families. Enjoy the half-term break, and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 2nd June.
