Hello Year Three,
The children have been working hard. They have learned how to
use noun phrases effectively in our English lessons and have sequenced the
events of a story.
We have continued to work on place value for maths and have
been using number lines to help with this learning.
In science this week they classified vertebrates and
invertebrates.
The Spanish conversations are going well! The children are
becoming more fluent as their confidence develops.
We learned the meaning of Christian symbols in our RE lesson.
For geography we explored volcanoes and the children can name
the different types, active, dormant and extinct. They should be able to tell
you what each one means.
We had an e-safety lesson in ICT and the children spent a
short time practising their tables on TT Rockstars. Please keep this up at
home.

English
We will be working towards a final recount of our story and
will be using dialogue, fronted adverbials and noun phrases.

It will be our final week learning place value.
Science
As we continue to learn about the human body we will move on
to nutrition. Next week we will learn about the different food groups and why
our bodies need a balanced diet.
Spanish
Next week we will focus on Spanish culture and continue to
build on conversations.
Geography
The focus will be exploring what it is like to live near a
volcano.
ICT
We will be looking at animation next week.

Next week we will complete our work on place value. The children
will be carrying out a variety of games to learn their times tables, but they
do still need to practise at home.
Science
The children will be learning about vertebrates and
invertebrates.
Geography
We will continue with our project on volcanoes as we discover
the many different types.
Spanish
As we build on our Spanish vocabulary the children will learn
ways to say goodbye and will be having conversations with each other.
RE
Next week we will be exploring the different symbols
associated to Christianity.
ART
To follow on from this week’s still life drawing we will be
working on shading.
