Hello all,

We have had a great week in Year 3 - the children (and I) have been very excited that the Euros football tournament is underway and we have been keeping our wall chart up to date! There was lots of excitement brewing today before tonight's England vs Scotland game.

As well as excitement about the Euros we have also had lots of enjoyable lessons this week and I am really pleased with the children's on-going positive attitude towards their learning.

TIME

Next week in maths we will be learning time - analogue and digital. This is a very abstract concept for children so I would really appreciate if you could do some pre-learning this weekend to prepare the children for next week's maths.

Parents' Consultations

As yesterday's newsletter stated, Year 3 parent's consultations will take place virtually on Thursday 1st July - 9am-12pm & 2pm-6pm. These are going to be held virtually via Teams. You will need to book an appointment time via the School Cloud Parent Evening System (there was a link to the website on the newsletter). Nearer the time the I will send you a link for your appointment which you can enter at your allocated time. Appointments will become available from Monday 21st June at 10am. They will be for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Next Week

Maths - Time. We will learn the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each month, year and leap year and we will also tell and write the time from an analogue clock  and 12-hour and 24-hour clocks.

English - We will be writing a persuasive letter and hopefully toward the end of the week we will start our new book The Legend of Sally Jones by Jakob Wegelius.

Science - We will be looking at and investigating what plants need to grow.

History - To find out how transport changed during the Industrial Revolution.

ICT - Recording sound.

RE- Islamic art and mosques.
