Hello all - Happy Friday!

We have had a great week this week - from practicing our songs and dances for The Pirates of Currybean to Maths Day on Wednesday. It has been a week full of fun and learning.

I hope to see some of you at the quiz tomorrow night! It's not too late to create a team - tickets will be sold on the door and there will be a bar. Come along!

Strike Wednesday 15th March-  You might have seen in the news that some teachers who are members of the NEU will be taking strike action on Wednesday 15th March. I will be striking that day and you will need to make other arrangements for your child on that day. Do not send your child to school.

Children in Years 3 who are on free school meals will be able to have a packed lunch on this day which will need to be collected at lunchtime. The school office will be contacting all eligible families at the beginning of next week to see if they want to take up this offer.

Thank you for your support.

PGL

On Thursday 16th March we will be leaving promptly at 7am. The children are encouraged to arrive at 6:50 to begin loading the coach.

Please remember the children will need to bring their own bedding (pillow and sleeping bag/duvet) as well as clothes, spare shoes and warm clothing.

The weather at present is looking to be showery and cold so please ensure the children have warm clothing that is waterproof where possible.

The children will be taking part in an activity as soon as we arrive so please ensure they are dressed and ready from the morning. Lunch will be available when we arrive.

If the children require medication while we are away, please ensure a medical form has been filled out and the medication is provided in the correct box with the doctors instructions or original leaflet.

Once again, it is important the children are able to carry their belongings and locate their clothing easily so please pack with your children.

For any children who are not coming to PGL they are expected to attend school as normal. They will be taught by Mrs Ameen in the Year 3 classroom. They will need to go straight there on Thursday morning and this is where they will also be dismissed.

Home learning project - Van Gogh - 30th March

This is completely up to you. You could recreate some of Van Gogh's master pieces or create some art in the same style as Van Gogh. You may want to create a poem or a story about a Van Gogh painting. You may want to create a fact file or presentation on Van Gogh.

Next Week

Maths - Division.

English - We will be finishing and editing our explanation texts topic on how bees make honey.

Science - Investigating shadows.

ICT - Using publisher.
