Hello all!
We have had a great week in year 3 this week.
This week:
English – We have finished our topic and the children have
written their very own fable. These were great and the children really enjoyed
acting about their fables, which will lead onto our next focus in English – script writing.
Maths – We have been looking at place value and comparing and
ordering 2- and 3- digit numbers as well as counting on and back in 10s and 1s
to solve addition and subtraction calculations.
Science – We have been identifying and grouping animals with
and without skeletons. We were also looking at the differences between endoskeletons, exoskeletons and hydrostatic
skeletons.
PE
The children have PE:
Tuesday 14:15 – 15:15 (football)
Thursday 11:00 – 12:00
Friday 10:10 – 10:40
As we currently are unable to use the hall due to building
work most of the PE lessons are taking place outside. Please ensure the
children have appropriate clothing to accommodate for the outside weather.
Music
The children are learning to play the recorder in their music lessons. They are having their recorder sent home so they can practise. Please ensure the children bring their recorder back in on Friday.
