Good afternoon Year Three,
We have had a lot of fun this week, especially today as the
children were able to learn to use a programme on the computer to sequence.
We also played a range of music while we worked and had a fabulous PHSE lesson about our dreams and goals. They also got to explore the ‘magic box’ so it was all very special! Here are a few pictures from this afternoon.
This week we have begun to explore perimeters in our maths lessons and the times table test was a success as the children are obviously learning them at home.
We have begun to read ‘The Thames and the Tide Club,’ which
the children love! It is an adventure story about finding treasures on the bank
of the River Thames. We began the lessons by going mudlarking ourselves and
finding lots of old treasures!
For geography we looked at features of Antarctica.
We carried out a scientific investigation to discover the best
surface for rolling toy cars.
We continued to learn about religious leaders and researched
the role of a vicar. We also explored the life of Gandhi, which the children
found very interesting.
NEXT WEEK
Maths
For maths we will be continuing to work on perimeter and then
will move on to fractions, looking at the denominator. There will be a times
table test on Friday and the children will know which table they are currently
working on.

Our English lessons will continue to based on the book we are
reading and we will be working on using descriptive phrases, using the present
perfect tense, writing a weather report and to use adverbials. There will be a
spelling test on Friday and the words for each group are below. They will also
be given sheets on Monday to take home.
