Hello Year Three,
Wow! We have had a busy week. The assembly was a huge success despite the children not having the script on the screen. Well done for carrying on without it! I really enjoyed watching you all have so much fun with the assembly. You should all feel very proud!
This week we have continued to learn how to measure lengths, including equivalent lengths in metres, centimetres and millimetres. The time tables test went well and many children have moved on.
We finished our class book ‘Escape From Pompeii’ this week. The children wrote newspaper reports and finally a book review.
For geography we explored the features of Antarctica. We used the globe to find Antarctica.
In Spanish we learned about shapes, colours and animals by playing a fun game!
Next Week
English
We start a new class book next week called ‘The Thames and the Tide Club,’ by Katya Balen. It is an adventure story about mudlarking. We will begin by discovering the treasures in the mudlarking bucket! The children will be using conjunctions, writing a persuasive letter and using a range of descriptive phrases. They will focus on writing in the present perfect tense. Spellings for next week have been handed out.
