Week beginning Monday 8th June

Big excitement this week with the start of the World Cup. We have a growing football world cup display board, which encourages the children to study the world map, flags and gather footballing facts.

Come on England!!!

We have watched Horrible Histories and Boudica’s Revolt against the Romans. After this the children were able to write an account of the battle’s Boudica and the Iceni army led against the Romans and how she burnt London and St Alban’s to the ground. They are also able to retell the story of Boudica’s death in Colchester.

This week in Maths we have started a new topic – Shape. Some of the key vocabulary the children will use when describing the properties of shape includes; length, width, edges, angles, vertices, parallel, perpendicular, horizontal, vertical and diagonal.

It would be very helpful if the children knew the names of the different types of triangles.

Sports day is next Thursday 18th June in the afternoon for KS2, please make sure full PE kit is in school.

On Friday 19th June the multiplication test is Xs by 8 and the spelling word list below.
