Week beginning 13th July
The final full week of Year 3 has been a busy and exciting one!
On Monday afternoon, we enjoyed an animal facts and fun session with Mrs Wilson and her re-homed pets. We had the opportunity to see, learn about, and even handle a variety of fascinating animals, including giant snails, cockroaches, millipedes, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, crested and leopard geckos, a salamander, and white tree frogs. Some of the animals were a little too quick for us to handle safely! Before meeting them, we sprayed our hands with water to help the animals feel comfortable. One of the highlights was watching a gecko climb across the whiteboard.
To show our appreciation, we made Mrs Wilson a special thank-you card from the whole class.
On Wednesday afternoon, Year 3 attended the Year 6 Apprentice Initiative. Working in teams, the Year 6 pupils became stallholders, selling a range of goods and services to the younger children, with all profits going to charity. We had a wonderful time exploring the stalls and especially enjoyed playing with the slime and squishies we purchased.
Looking ahead to next week, we have our final PE lesson on Monday, following the Year 6 performance in the morning. On Tuesday morning, the annual Year 6 versus Staff rounders match will take place, and Year 3 will be cheering from the sidelines as enthusiastic supporters.
Farewell Spencer, Year 3 will miss you.
And finally, I'm sure everyone will be delighted to hear that there will be no spelling or multiplication tests next week! 😊
