Welcome to Year 3!

Welcome to Year 3!

Hello all!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to Year 3 and I hope you all had a wonderful break over the summer.

Some of you may know me, however, I may be new to others. I am Miss Davis, I have worked at Little Heath Primary School for 5 years now and I am very excited to begin teaching this class. We have an excellent support team in Year 3, Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Ameen supporting us in our learning.

The children will enter the school through the KS2 playground and at the end of the school day please pick the children up from the year 3 classroom at 15:20. I will be taking the register at 08:50 each morning so please ensure the children arrive promptly. The children, if they are having school dinners, will be choosing their own lunch.

The children will be given all the equipment they need for school but if they wish to bring in their own glue, pencils and colouring pencils they may do. Please ensure these are all appropriate for school and will not distract the children from their learning. Their equipment is their own responsibility to look after.

Homework

No spellings will be sent home during the first week. Spellings will be sent home the following week. The spelling test will be on Monday afternoons. The children will have the opportunity to practise their spellings during morning work, however, if you could also support children with learning their spellings this will allow the children to really consolidate their learning.

I do expect the children to be using mathletics at home. If you do not have access to a device to access mathletics or want your child to use mathletics more then the school runs a homework club on a Wednesday. In homework club the children can use the iPads and laptops to assist and support their learning.

Please ensure the children are all reading at home still (even if they’re a free reader).
