Week ending 7th March 2025
Hello Year Three,
We have had an amazing week, which began with a science workshop on electricity. The children loved every moment! They created electrical circuits and used a variety of equipment to make things move using magnetic and electrical power.
Today we celebrated World Book Day. The children were involved in many activities. We took part in a writing crossover activity, reading to Reception children and workshops with the author....................
It has been such a fun day!
We also began our art project this week as we are creating mosaics. The children planned their mosaics and practised on squared paper. Next week they will begin to form their final piece.
We have completed our measurement unit in our maths lessons and are now working of fractions.
We continue to work from the book 'Escape from Pompeii' and have learned how to use the possessive s apostrophe. We have focussed on character inference this week.
For history we learned how the Romans invaded Britain. We researched their techniques, manoeuvres and formations and how this enabled them to become such a strong army.
We did not carry out our spelling or tables test this week. I will set next week's spellings below.
For tables, I would like the children to focus on mixed tables up to 6 or 12. The children work so hard to learn the new table and begin to forget the tables they previously learned. Next week's test will be on tables up to 6 or 12.
