Hello Year Three,

A wonderful week, ending with a great Harvest Festival. The children were so excited and they sang beautifully.

 This week the children learned how to use dialogue in a narrative. They used adverbs to enhance their story writing and wrote poems on ‘Poetry Day.’ They asked if they could take their final copies home as they were so proud of them.

We completed the place value block in our maths lessons and the results from the times table tests today were good. Please continue to make use of ‘TT Rockstars.’

We have begun to explore food groups in our science lessons and are currently creating a class nutrition board.

The children learned about living near a volcano in our geography lessons and were surprised to find that although there are lots of positive reasons to set up home close by.

For RE this week we focused on Hindu symbols as we prepare for our trip to the temple on 16th October.

We continued to work on greetings in Spanish.

For PHSE we spent some time discussing challenging friendship situations and we used role play to explore this further. We now have a ‘Wonder Box’ in the classroom for special/personal letters.

 NEXT WEEK

It will be our final week working from the book ‘The First Drawing.’ The children will be using all they have learned in English lessons so far to produce a retelling of the story. The success criteria will be;
