Week ending 24th January 20205
Hello Year Three,
This week we had great fun tasting a variety of breads and sandwich fillings for our D and T project. I was quite surprised by their expensive taste as so many ordered smoked salmon! It was great fun and they are building on their ideas for the design of their own sandwich.
We have continued multiplication and division for maths and the children are doing so well with their times tables. They are working hard to achieve their goals on Friday mornings. Please keep up all the good work you must be doing at home!
The children really enjoyed poetry writing this week. The theme came from our class book 'The Tear Thief,' as they created poems using similes and metaphors to describe the different emotions we have when crying.
For science we explored reflective materials and the children designed a school bag that would help to keep them safe in the dark
In our Spanish lesson the children learned to name and write the items they have in a pencil case. Ask them to have a go at home.
Next Week
Maths
We will continue to work on multiplication and division and the children will be problem solving using these two operations.
English
Our work from 'The Tear Thief' takes a different turn next week, as we begin to plan a newspaper report, when the children find that the tears in our jar are missing from the classroom and notice footprints in flour on the floor!

We will be working with light and mirrors next week, experimenting and investigating.
Geography
We will be exploring the physical and human features of Antarctica.
RE
The children will be thinking of themselves as leaders and describe what they would change and implement in different scenarios.
PHSE
As we began creating and designing gardens for those less fortunate than ourselves, next week we will be thinking of the finer details to the planning, such as plants for a sensory garden and the amount of space needed for children to run freely.
Spanish
Next week we will be following class instructions in Spanish.
I wish you all a happy and restful weekend.
Many thanks
Ms Davis and Mrs Proudlove
