Week ending 16th May 2025
Good afternoon Year Three,
Another busy week for us! We have covered a lot of maths as the children completed their assessments this week.
We have completed our unit on Mass and Capacity. Next week we begin a unit on fractions.
We have been exploring homophones in English and the children wrote a descriptive piece about tea. We completed a comprehension about a Tsunami, which they found fascinating!
Some of the plants have grown quite a lot this week. Please do not worry if your sunflower has not appeared yet as I will be getting some more seeds at the weekend. I will also get some sticks to hold the stems up.
We examined the plant in the cupboard this week and it had become so weak that the stem had broken in half. We concluded that plants need sunlight to survive.
We went searching for leaves and identified them. We began to identify the trees they come from too.
We drew maps of the land use in Potters Bar this week. The children felt that they were lucky to have so much agricultural land around them, but would like more recreational facilities.
For RE we looked at sacred texts. We also discussed our 'favourite' or 'special' books and why they have so much meaning for us.
NEXT WEEK
