Week ending 27th June 2025
Hello Year Three,
We spent a long time working on the Van Gogh paintings this week. The children built the paintings up in layers, so they had to keep waiting for them to dry. I hope you enjoy them as much as the children do. They were all amazing and the children were thrilled with their final pieces.
We completed our maths project on 'time.' The times tables are definitely improving. I think the times table bingo game we play really helps as they have to keep working out the possible answers to the table they are working on. Once this is played a few times they become familiar with them. Ask your child to have a game with you at home. They find it great fun!
This week the children learned about dialogue. They began by using speech bubbles and then changed them into speech marks. There are several rules with speech marks which the children are gradually managing to follow.
Today we completed the PHSE lesson regarding body changes. They were all very sensible and asked appropriate questions.
D and T
We have begun our final D and T project of the year. The children will be creating moving monsters using hydraulics.

Outdoor area
As you may know we are trying to create an attractive and inviting space outside our classroom. The children have come up with lots of ideas and are keen to transform the area. Ideally we would like a small bench for reading, cushions and fake grass if anyone has any or knows of someone who would be interesting in donating. The children are going to make bunting and they have some other ideas, but if you feel you have anything that would be suitable for this small garden area please let me know.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
