Welcome to Year 3!
Welcome to Year 3!
Hello all, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome
you all to Year 3 and I hope you all had a wonderful break over the “summer”.
Some of you may know me, however, I may be new to others. I
am Miss Davis, I have worked at Little Heath Primary School for a few years now
and I am very excited to begin my teaching career in this class with your
children. We also have Mrs Reynolds, Mrs Ameen and Miss Russon supporting us in
Year 3. Myself and the children have had a fantastic few days getting to know
each other and getting back into the school routine.
I will send home reading books today, please remember to
read with your children daily and note their progress in the reading record.
No spellings have been sent home this week. Spellings will
be sent home next week and the test will take place the following week. The
children will have the opportunity to practise these during morning work,
however, if you could also support children with learning their spellings this
will allow the children to really consolidate their learning.
I have told the children that they can bring in pictures of
their pets to contribute to our pet display area. If the children do not have a
pet, they could bring in a picture of their teddy, should they wish to. This is
not compulsory, it is just if you/your child wishes to.
Polite notice: At the end of the day, the children have
their carpet time and a story/class discussion. Unfortunately, this week there
were times where this was interrupted by distractions from outside. In future,
please be mindful that this is still learning time for the children. The children
will be dismissed at 15:20.
Next week’s focus
English – Fables. Exploring what fables are and exploring
morals in fables.
Maths – Use multiple of 5 and 10 bonds to 100 to solve
additions and subtractions; add and subtract 1-digit numbers to and from
2-digit numbers.
Religious Education – What is religion? What does it mean to
you?
Geography – Continents of the world.
Art- What is art? How do we make art? Blind sketching tasks
Science – Human skeleton
PSHE – Getting to know each other.
Spanish – Where is Spain? Greetings.
Enjoy your weekend!
