Hello all,
Apparently it’s December? Time
really has flown by and it seems like the children’s first day in September was
only a few weeks ago.
Next Friday is Christmas Jumper Day. For £1 the children can come
into school in non-uniform and their favourite Christmas jumper. I look forward
to this day ever year!
Next Wednesday is open afternoon. From 3pm to 4:30pm you can come to
the classroom and look through your children’s learning. This will be a great opportunity
to see all the hard work your children are putting in. Please, however, be
mindful that school does not finish until 3:20pm so there may still be learning
taking place. This session is open from 3-4:30 and you can drop in at any
point.
This Week
Maths - Place 2- and 3-digit
numbers on a number line; round 3-digit numbers to nearest 100; use counting up
to do mental subtractions with answers between 10 and 20, 10 and 30, and either
side of 100.
English- We have been continuing
our recount writing with the aim of writing our own newspaper reports this
week. We have written separate parts of a newspaper report and now need to
finish our newspapers and edit our own work.
Science – Magnets. Testing how
strong magnets are. The children made their own investigation to test how
strong magnets are. They will be carrying out their investigation and recording
this.
History – This week we have looked
life during the Bronze Age. The children then wrote a diary entry as if they
were a child living a day during the Bronze Age. These we’re an excellent read
and the children are very knowledgeable of Bronze Age life.
RE- This week Mrs Ameen, our
teaching assistant, gave a talk and answered lots of questions about Islam and
what it is like to be a Muslim. The children were really fascinated to learn
all about Muslim beliefs and celebrations.
MFL – This week children were
learning the lyrics and song Feliz Navidad.
PSHE- This week the children were
discussing different feelings that we feel, bullying and what to do if you feel
lonely.

their Stone Age necklaces this week.
