Happy Friday (and welcome to the long weekend)!

Another great week of learning had by all. This week I sent home a letter about a poetry competition that the children can partake in. I would like all children to compete and to return the form by Friday 10th May. There are prizes available to be won and even the chance to become published authors – quite an accomplishment for a 7/8 year-old (it’s a really good confidence booster).

Next Wednesday we are off to the Science Museum in London. The children have a real love for science and I cannot wait for them to see and experience the Wonder Lab. The coach will leave at 09:30 but the children are to be in school at normal time. We are leaving the science museum at 14:00 and I expect to be back in school before the end of the school day, traffic permitting. Please could the children each bring in a packed lunch in a disposable bag. We will eat this at the museum and throw the bag away. Staff will be equipped with cameras and capture the children’s learning at the science museum. Unfortunately, our trip does not allow time to visit the gift shop so please do not give the children money for the trip. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
