Hello all!
Yet another week of learning has
passed and although the half term is in sight we still have lots to do!
There are a few children taking
part in sharing assembly on Monday – I know those letters can get lost in
transport so may be a good idea to ask your child if they are taking part so
that you do not miss out.
Swimming
– The children have their swimming lessons each Wednesday. Please send your
child in with either a swimming costume or shorts – no bikinis, please. Also,
if you wish for your child to wear goggles please write a note to Mr Mills
explaining this. (If the children come in wearing their swimming things under
their uniform, please pack spare underwear for when they get changed after
their swimming lesson).
Oliver
(the dog) exploring our local area – Oliver the teddy will be coming home with
the children to explore their local area as this is our current geography
topic. Please do not feel you have to go to great and exciting places. it is
just to see somewhere local – fields, a bus stop, train station, supermarket,
shop, etc. The children will bring home a sheet to complete.
Collage
In art we are studying college so
I would appreciate it if you could donate materials to the class that would be
good for collage. Magazine, wool, buttons, odds and ends etc. Thank you!
Next Week
Maths – We will be continuing our
topic of exploring division and multiplication facts and how they are related.
English – Once the children have
finished writing their explanation texts, we will be moving onto our poetry
week.
Science – In science we will be looking
at how the light from the sun can be dangerous and that there are
ways to protect their eyes
RE – We will be discussing ‘who/what
is god?’
Art – The children learnt how to
mix paint this week. Next week the children will be mixing their own paint to
complete their printing.
