Hi all!

The children all looked very smart today for their individual school photos!

I am very happy with how the children are starting to settle into Year 3 life, routines and expectations. It is certainly a step up for Year 2 and they are adjusting very well. So well done Year 3!

Homework

The children had their spelling pre-test on Monday and the spellings were put on the blog on Monday evening. The spelling test will be on Monday afternoons. The children will have the opportunity to practice their spellings during morning work, however, if you could also support children with learning their spellings this will allow the children to really consolidate their learning.

 

We have completed the reading assessment for the children and they should their own books and reading records. Please record when you are reading with your child. 10 minutes of reading each day is recommended.

 

Mathletics/Mathseeds – I hope the children are using to their maths program. I have now set tasks and can see how much the children are doing. Each child has their own username and password; this should be on their blue maths record. I expect the children to be doing a minimum of 3 x 20-minute session each week.

Maths – We will be starting our place value topic.

English – The children will finish writing their fables. Then we will start our topic of play scripts.

Science – Next week we will look at skeletons of animals and humans.

Art- We will be continuing our Stone Age art topic.
