We began the week with our comprehension lesson all about tremors. I’m genuinely amazed at how much we have learned together and how many opportunities we’ve had to explore, discuss, and deepen our understanding from such a short passage. It’s been one of my favourite lessons to teach, as comprehension is such an important part of learning, and the children have risen to the challenge beautifully. We’ve uncovered fascinating facts, extended our knowledge, and shared some brilliant ideas.

In English, the children have worked incredibly hard on both their understanding and their writing. Once again, we’ve explored the national curriculum with a touch of creativity, which has really helped everyone stay engaged and work productively.

In Maths, we’ve started a new block on multiplication and division. Mr Gradwell has been leading these lessons, and his creative approach has had the whole class buzzing with enthusiasm!

We ended the week with a thoroughly risk-assessed D&T session using drills and saws. I’ll let the children tell you all about that — they were absolutely superb! I’m so pleased they had the chance to practise using the tools they’ll need for our upcoming tree project.

I’ll be back in Nursery next week, so I’d like to wish you all a wonderful weekend. Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions about Year 3 moving forward — I’m always happy to help if I can.
