Hello all,

Another week with lots of learning in Year 3. The children this week especially enjoyed making their art fashion project. I took some photos of the children – I will attach these to the bottom of this blog post.

Reminder: It is so important for children to get to school on time (08:40 to be registered by 08:50). The children do complete morning activities so if they are late they are missing learning opportunities. Please could all children aim to be at school on time.

Rayyan’s Big Haircut – Please Donate. After 3 years of growing his hair Rayyan, a Year 6 child, will be having his hair cut at the Summer Fair (29^th June). He will be donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust who will create wigs for children who are suffering from cancer. He is also hoping to raise money for Cancer Research to support their research into finding a cure to cancer. I am looking forward to the next mathletics/mathseeds report to see that the children are consolidating their learning on their programs. This month the child that spends the most time on mathletics/mathseeds will be receiving a Head Teacher’s Award.

Home challenge: Please teach your child how to tell the time. Start on an analogue clock and then on a digital. 

Next Week

Maths – Next week in maths we will be learning the long division method.

English – The children and I are continuing to read our adventure story, The Firework Maker’s Daughter, and working towards building our creative writing techniques.

Geography – To will be aiming to be able to identify a range of mapping symbols and know their meanings.

D & T – This week the children designed their pencil case and were taught how to sew. This week the children will be creating their pencil case.  

RE – We will be looking at The Story of The Good Samaritan.

Art – We will be evaluating our fashion project.
