Hello all! 

It was so lovely seeing you all on Wednesday evening for meet the teacher. For those that did not attend I have attached the PowerPoint.  



















Next week 

Maths -  We will be recognising the place value of each digit in a three-digit number (hundreds, tens and ones). Find 10 or 100 more or less than a given number

English - We will continue The Bear and the Piano. 

Science - We will be learning about food and nutritional value. 

Geography - To be able to locate countries on a world map.

Art - We will be looking at stone age art. 

ICT - E-safety. How to stay safe online. 

RE - An introduction to Islam. 

Spanish - Greetings. 


PE Timetable

Monday PM (30 minutes - trainers only).

Wednesday PM (1 hour - full kit) [Football. Separate kit. Please send the children in with appropriate clothing to play football in, this does not have to be an official Little Heath PE kit. This will get muddy – please send the children in warmer kits as the weather worsens].

Thursday AM (1 hour - full kit). 


Home Learning

Please ensure the children practice their times table on TTRS at home at least 3 times a week (3 x 20 min sessions). Please read for at least 10 minutes every evening and ask comprehension type questions to check understanding.

There will be a home learning project to follow. 


 Spellings

Every week the children will have a pre-test where they will be tested on the spellings for the upcoming week without having looked at them before. This works as a pre-assessment and means the children are only practising the the words they got wrong. 

If they receive 7 out of 10 or above, they have the extra challenge of finding other words that fit the same rule as well as learning the ones they got wrong. For example, if they scored 8/10 on their spelling test, they need to practise the 2 they got wrong, and find an additional 8 words that match the same rule, to make up to 10 spellings. 

For the first week of term I have given the children all the same words, so please do not worry if some of them are tricky. Based on the scores for this week I will put the children into different spellings groups, so just try and learn as many as you can.
