Hello all! 

I hope you're all well. We had a great week in year 3 this week. I have sent the children home with their TTRS and Numbots log in (the same login for both), do let me know if you have any issues logging on. 

Smile! Next Friday (24th) the children will be having their individual photographs taken. Winter uniform is suggested (but not compulsory) as the children look very smart in this – do not worry if you haven’t bought winter uniform yet or if you would prefer summer uniform.

We will also be celebrating Spanish Day next Friday. 

Home Learning Project – Due Thursday 21st October

Geography – Countries of the World

This half termly project is Countries of the World.

I would like you to create something that displays your learning around this topic.

Please feel free to be as imaginative as you would like! You could focus on subjects such as continents, countries, capital cities etc. You could explore food, culture, art, songs, sports, inventions, landmarks, wonders of the world etc.

Please do not feel this has to be a writing task.

Next week 

Maths -  We will be finding 10 or 100 more or less than a given number and comparing and ordering numbers up to 1000.

English - This week the children wrote beautiful monologues from The Bear and the Piano. Next week we will continue reading this book and work towards writing a diary entry from the bear's perspective.  

Science - We will compare and group animals by their diet.

Geography - We will  find out about some of the key geographical features of each continent.

Art - For Spanish Day we will be looking at Gaudi. 

ICT - E-safety. How to stay safe online. 

RE - An introduction to Islam (continuation).

Spanish - Greetings. 

PE Timetable

Monday PM (30 minutes - trainers only).

Wednesday PM (1 hour - full kit) [Football. Separate kit. Please send the children in with appropriate clothing to play football in, this does not have to be an official Little Heath PE kit. This will get muddy – please send the children in warmer kits as the weather worsens].

Thursday AM (1 hour - full kit). 

Home Learning

Please ensure the children practice their times tables on TTRS at home at least 3 times a week (3 x 20 min sessions). 

Please read for at least 10 minutes every evening and ask comprehension type questions to check understanding. 

Please ensure you learn the spellings ready for Monday's test. 

You also have the Countries of the World home learning project.
