Hello all, 

Welcome to Year 3 and I hope the children have enjoyed our first week. There are lots of new routines for the children to learn and I'm sure we will get into the swing of things soon. 

Spelling tests will start next week. The children will be tested (pre-test) on Monday and have a week to learn their spellings where they will be tested. 

Reading books will be handed out next week. 

Please do not bring a pencil case or any equipment to school as this will all be provided. 

Your PE sessions are: 

Monday 30 mins (trainers only)

Wednesday 1 hour (football) 

Thursday 1 hour (full kit) 

On Wednesdays the children will be playing football on their last lesson. This means that the children should have 2 pairs of shoes – one pair to walk through the school and the other pair to play football in. The children are also encouraged to wear warm clothes (no scarf) as Mr Mills will take them out in all weathers.

Next Week

Maths - We will be starting our place value topic.

English - We will start our topic on fables.

Science - In science we will learn about nutrients in our animals including humans topic. 

Computing - We will learn about e-safety.

RE - This year we will learn about Islam and Christianity. We will first look at Islam as a faith. 

Geography - We will start our countries of the world topic and will be learning the continents of the world.
