Hello all!
Wow – this week has flown by. The children
have been involved in rehearsals for the KS2 performance of Rock Bottom and
they hard work and determination really shone though. The children will be
singing and dancing along to our musical. Letters have gone out about costumes
and tickets. If you did not receive this, please let the office know and they
will be more than happy to help you.
Please could all costumed be in school in
a labelled bag by Wednesday
27th March. It would be a good idea to label all individual items
too, so there is no mix up.
The production will be on Wednesday (am) 3rd
April and Thursday (pm) 4th April. We do expect all children to be
in attendance to both performances. Thank you.
This week
Maths – We have continued the topic of
fractions. Finding fractions of amounts and trying to work out whole amounts
using fractions.
English – This week we have started our
topic on explanation texts.
History – The children loved hearing more
about Boudicca and this week we looked at the revolt against the Romans. The
children were absolutely fascinated to learn that she attacked St Albans and
London and that even though the Celts had a much bigger army the Romans managed
to defeat Boudicca and her army.
D&T – Designing a biscuit.
Next Week:
This KS2 production, Rock Bottom, is fast
approaching. This week will be having full dress rehearsals. Although we will be
rehearsing at this at school, if you could allow the children to practise the
songs at home, that would be a big help. (The songs are very catchy – you can
thank me later!)
Maths – Next week we will be looking at
ordering and comparing fractions.
English – We will be continuing our topic
of explanation texts.
Science -
Investigate the way in which water is transported within plants.
History – Next week in history we will be
finding out what Roman life was like in Britain.
